Massage Envy Spa Announces Canadian Expansion
The World's Largest Massage Therapy Franchise Plans First
International Development in Canada
Scottsdale, Ariz. (March, 2011) - Massage Envy
Spa, the pioneer and U.S. leader of affordable and convenient
massage and spa services, announced today plans for its first
international expansion in Canada. The company is seeking area
representatives to develop locations throughout the country over
the next several years, with an initial focus in Quebec, Ontario,
British Columbia and Alberta.
Currently, the company has more than 670 Massage Envy and Massage
Envy Spa locations in the United States, making it the largest
system of franchised massage centers. Since its inception in 2002,
Massage Envy has experienced tremendous growth in the U.S. and
plans to continue to expand its presence in markets across the
U.S., as well as Canada.
"Our 29 percent growth in membership last year proved that
consumers are seeking to maintain a balanced lifestyle focused on
wellness," said Massage Envy CEO David Humphrey. "With the help of
qualified area representatives, we plan to develop locations
throughout Canada. We're looking forward to offering affordable and
convenient massage therapy and skincare treatments to consumers in
Canada joining the nearly 1 million members in the United
States."
To share information about Canadian franchising opportunities,
Massage Envy is exhibiting at the national Franchise & Business
Opportunities Show being held a the Palais des Congres, Montreal,
Quebec, booth #400.
"Entrepreneurs throughout Canada will have the unique opportunity
to join us in educating the public about the benefits of massage
and spa therapy," said Humphrey. "Massage Envy is a growing
business with tremendous potential. It requires entrepreneurs who
have extensive business experience at the management or executive
level, as well as a proven track record in business development,
outstanding interpersonal skills and strong financial net

sales or management experience, but do not need to have a massage
therapy or spa operations background. Area representatives are not
only responsible for establishing a successful Massage Envy Spa,

respective territories. Also, they will share in the revenue
streams generated by those franchisees.

global skincare leader Murad®. With Murad, Massage Envy Spa
customers benefit from facials and skin care treatments designed by
one of the world's foremost leaders in skin health.
In addition to increasing membership numbers from 701,000 members
in 2009 to over 900,000 members in 2010, the company recently
performed its 20 millionth massage. Net sales for franchisees have
grown as well.
