Massage Envy® Raises $23,178 For Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation On Massage For The Cure Days
St. Louis, Missouri- September 1, 2006 - St.
Louis Area Massage Envy Locations Provided 685 Free Massages To
Benefit Breast Cancer Research. Massage Envy® partnered with the
St. Louis and Mid-Missouri Affiliates of The Susan G. Komen Breast
Cancer Foundation for Massage for the Cure Day on August 7. Massage
Envy raised $23,178 by providing 685 free therapeutic massages on a
donation-only basis at 11 Massage Envy locations in St. Louis and
Columbia.
"Massage Envy® is thrilled about the success of Massage for the
Cure Day in St. Louis," said John Leonesio, founder and CEO of
Massage Envy®. "Too many women have lived in fear of breast cancer
for far too long. Our partnership with The Komen Foundation raised
much needed dollars to fund mammograms and breast cancer research
in the St. Louis region and it is my hope that our annual event
will raise awareness about the importance of early detection and
early treatment of breast cancer."

St. Louis media celebrities rallied behind the event to show
their support for The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation local
event. Monica Adams, Victoria Babu, Bill Clevlen, Jeannette Batz
Cooperman, Jill Devine, Susan Fadem, Ed Goodman, Kris Kelly, Laurie
Mac, Melanie Moon, Patrick Murphy, Guy Phillips, Michelle Steele,
and Julie Tristan made appearances at the 10 St. Louis area Massage
Envy locations.
"It was a privilege to partner with Massage Envy: Massage for
the Cure to create such a spectacular event for the St. Louis
community," said Helen Chesnut of the St. Louis Affiliate of The
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. "What a wonderful way to
raise awareness for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and
our efforts to eradicate breast cancer as a life threatening
disease. We look forward to a great partnership for years to
come."
Massage for the Cure began in the Arizona region, headquarters
of Massage Envy®, in 2005. so Massage Envy® selected St.
Louis/Columbia as the second host cities for Massage for the Cure
and it will now become an annual event.
