Massage Envy® Raises $23,178 For Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation On Massage For The Cure Days

St. Louis Area Massage Envy Locations Provided 685 Free Massages To Benefit Breast Cancer Research

Massage Envy® partnered with the St. Louis and Mid-Missouri Affiliates of The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation for Massage for the Cure Day on August 7.  Massage Envy raised $23,178 by providing 685 free therapeutic massages on a donation-only basis at 11 Massage Envy locations in St. Louis and Columbia.

"Massage Envy® is thrilled about the success of Massage for the Cure Day in St. Louis," said John Leonesio, founder and CEO of Massage Envy®.  "Too many women have lived in fear of breast cancer for far too long.  Our partnership with The Komen Foundation raised much needed dollars to fund mammograms and breast cancer research in the St. Louis region and it is my hope that our annual event will raise awareness about the importance of early detection and early treatment of breast cancer."

St. Louis media celebrities rallied behind the event to show their support for The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation local event.  Monica Adams, Victoria Babu, Bill Clevlen, Jeannette Batz Cooperman, Jill Devine, Susan Fadem, Ed Goodman, Kris Kelly, Laurie Mac, Melanie Moon, Patrick Murphy, Guy Phillips, Michelle Steele, and Julie Tristan made appearances at the 10 St. Louis area Massage Envy locations.

"It was a privilege to partner with Massage Envy:  Massage for the Cure to create such a spectacular event for the St. Louis community," said Helen Chesnut of the St. Louis Affiliate of The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  "What a wonderful way to raise awareness for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and our efforts to eradicate breast cancer as a life threatening disease.  We look forward to a great partnership for years to come."

Massage for the Cure began in the Arizona region, headquarters of Massage Envy®, in 2005.  so Massage Envy® selected St. Louis/Columbia as the second host cities for Massage for the Cure and it will now become an annual event.

"The outpouring of support for Massage for the Cure Day was humbling," said Dan Lowery, regional developer for Massage Envy®.  "All area Massage Envy locations were booked to capacity, which illustrates how determined people are to find a cure for breast cancer.  It will be an honor to present a check to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation."
