Massage Envy® Raises An Astonishing $58,286.19 For The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
"Massage for The Cure" Provides Free One-Hour Massages to
Benefit Breast Cancer Research
Phoenix, Arizona - September 19, 2006 - Thanks
to the high number of professional massages given at 16 Valley-wide
Massage Envy locations on Monday, September 18, during "Massage for
the Cure," Massage Envy raised $58,286.19 for the Susan G. Komen
Breast Cancer Foundation, which exceeded this year's goal.
"Massage for the Cure" provided 1,744 number of free one-hour
therapeutic massages to massage lovers throughout Phoenix, and
every greater metro area Massage Envy clinic was booked for the
daylong event. All proceeds raised during the "Massage for the
Cure" event will support breast cancer research initiatives through
the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
"We are extremely pleased with this year's attendance because it
allowed us to raise a tremendous amount of money in one single day
for a well-deserving charitable organization," said Massage Envy
founder and CEO John Leonesio. "Our primary goal was to not only
raise funds, but also to raise awareness about the importance of
early detection and treatment to offer the best chance of breast
cancer survival. We are proud to donate an entire day's worth of
proceeds in honor of our employees who have been affected by breast
cancer along with the Phoenix members of Massage Envy."
