Great Success Achieved at the First Annual Massage for the Cure Day
Phoenix, Arizona - September 20, 2005 - Massage
Envy Limited, LLC held its first annual Massage for the
Cure day on September 19th, 2005. The one-day event raised
$41,116.50 at their 16 valley-wide locations in Arizona, with the
entire day's proceeds to benefit The Phoenix Affiliate of The Susan
G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation- exceeding the initial goal of
$10,000 for the one-day event.
Along with the corporate offices of Massage Envy Limited, the
independently-owned franchise clinics contributed 100% of all
proceeds raised at their locations, a result of donations collected
from participants who received a free one-hour therapeutic massage
session in exchange for their contribution to the fight for a cure
for breast cancer. At some clinics, massage therapists even
contributed the gratuities they earned for the day's work and
others will be participating in the upcoming Phoenix Race for the
Cure event.

The Massage Envy® family is proud to support a cause that
affects not just those diagnosed with breast cancer but those who
love them as well. With news of the money raised as a result of the
one-day event, Massage Envy® founder and CEO John Leonesio said,
"I'm really just overjoyed with the contributions made by our
caring members and new visitors to our clinics for such a worthy
cause. Our typical membership demographic is made up of the same
demographic as those most likely to be affected by breast cancer,
so I believe this partnership with Komen, which we will grow year
after year for many to come, is the perfect fit. Too many women
have lived in fear of breast cancer for far too long. It is my hope
that our annual event will raise awareness about the importance of
early detection and early treatment so we may help those diagnosed
with the disease increase their chances of survival."
The event was a great success and Massage Envy® plans to
roll-out an annual Massage for the Cure event in cities
nationwide in 2006.
