Massage Envy Raised $28,582 For Susan G. Komen For The Cure
St.Louis, Missouri - September 24, 2007-
"Massage For The Cure Day" provided 875 free massages to benefit
breast cancer research. Massage Envy partnered with the St. Louis
and Mid-Missouri Affiliates of Susan G. Komen For The Cure for
Massage for the Cure Day on August 6. Massage Envy raised $28,582
by providing 875 free therapeutic massages on a donation-only basis
at 12 Massage Envy locations in St. Louis and Columbia.
"Massage Envy is thrilled about the success of Massage for the
Cure Day," said John Leonesio, founder and CEO of Massage Envy.
"Too many women have lived in fear of breast cancer for far too
long. Our partnership with Susan G. Komen For The Cure raised much
needed dollars to fund mammograms and breast cancer research in the
St. Louis region and it is my hope that our annual event will raise
awareness about the importance of early detection and early
treatment of breast cancer."
"The outpouring of support for Massage for the Cure Day was
humbling," said Dan Lowery, regional developer for Massage Envy.
"All area Massage Envy locations were booked to capacity, which
illustrates how determined people are to find a cure for breast
cancer. It is an honor to present a check to Susan G. Komen For The
Cure."
