Run down? Rev Up Quickly with These Tips

Feeling less than energetic some days? It is easy to get overwhelmed in today’s fast-paced world. Here are six simple, and easy, ways to put a spring back in your step when life wears you out.

Here comes the sun—Natural light offers a completely natural way to reenergize when your spirits and enthusiasm are flagging. Try to step away from your desk, if you don’t have a window nearby, to catch a few rays.

Chill out—If you get too warm it can cause you to get drowsy. Being too cold can distract you from the task at hand. Keep the temperature between 69 to 73 degrees to help stay alert and focused.

Refuel wisely—When the afternoon slump hits, you may want to grab something sugary for a fast jolt. Resist! A better idea is eat healthy meals and snacks that are high in protein and low in carbs to keep you running all day long.

Breath in, breath out—Sometimes all you need to feel better is a couple of deep breaths in and out. We breathe without thinking, and all too often, we don’t inhale and exhale properly to insure that oxygen is getting to our cells.

Drink up—Regularly drinking water is good for you in so many ways. When you are dehydrated, your blood volume decreases causing fatigue. So grab a glass of H2O and keep it handy throughout the day.

You’ve got to move—Finally, the simple act of moving around is often all it takes to fight off fatigue. So, get out from behind that computer, stand up, walk around and stretch. You’ll be wide awake and energized before you know it!
