What’s the best attire to wear to a massage? The answer is; it’s totally up to you. It’s your massage, and your therapist will likely tell you to; “…undress to your comfort level.”
But what does that mean? Here’s what you can expect when you book a massage near you today.
OPTION #1: Leave it all covered
It is possible to receive a massage fully clothed. Your massage therapist can perform your massage service regardless of attire. While they will still be able to work on your body, you may miss out on the thoroughness that comes when your therapist addresses the whole muscle, end-to-end.
Plus, with clothes on, you run the risk of getting massage lotion or enhancement oils on them. Remember, it’s your choice, so let your therapist know what you are comfortable with.
OPTION #2: Almost bare, but not quite there
Many customers opt to remove just the top layer as a nice balance between allowing skin access while maintaining a degree of modesty.
If being partially dressed feels comfortable to you, then this is the best option. If any area you need work on is covered, it could hinder the overall calming experience you might be trying to achieve. That said, your therapist will work over or around whatever you wear.
OPTION #3: No clothes for me
If it’s important to you for your therapist to be able to massage you with long, uninterrupted strokes, then this may be best for you.
If you opt for no clothing, your massage therapist is required to leave your private areas covered by the sheets on the massage table for the duration of your session.
