Dear Massage Envy Family:

As the tragic events of the past few months continue to demonstrate, the challenges of discrimination and violence against people of color have risen to the top of the nation’s social conscience. Finally. It is so long overdue. Black Lives Matter.

I am committed to ensuring our brand is a part of positive social change – change that leads to a more just and inclusive society. As a brand rooted in taking care of people, my goal is to ensure inclusion, diversity and equity is being woven into the fabric of this great brand. As such, late last month we started this journey by launching a mandatory diversity and inclusion program for corporate staff. This program is also available to our independently owned and operated franchise location owners and their team members. The strategic goal of this program is to provide additional knowledge and tools to help increase individual self-awareness, identify behaviors that reinforce inclusion, commit to personal development related to inclusive behavior, and seeking to eliminate the negative impacts of bias-driven behaviors.

Additionally, we will have a diversity council established by the end of 2020 to ensure we consider all of the ways we can lead on diversity and inclusion and put the proper plans in place.

In closing, my personal wish is that our Massage Envy family grows from this effort. It will take time and commitment, but I know there is nothing more important than making everyone feel welcome, appreciated, and respected.

Sincerely,

Beth Stiller
