After Care Instructions

All services are provided by employees of the independently owned and operated Massage Envy franchised location. The information contained on this page is generalized and includes recommendations for after care. You should discuss your specific after-care needs and other questions you may have directly with your service provider.

Please Be Aware

• You may notice some normal, temporary redness following the facial.
• Facials cleanse and exfoliate the skin, which can encourage the purging of impurities. You may experience a minor breakout in the days following the facial.

After-Care Instructions

• Refrain from wearing heavy makeup for 24 hours after your facial.
• Refrain from prolonged sun exposure for 48 hours afterwards; use a facial sunscreen.
• Some skin care products containing vitamin C or retinol may not be appropriate to apply for at least 4 to 6 hours after your facial.
• Do not receive another facial service within 48 hours.

Please Be Aware

• Due to the exfoliation process, it is recommended to keep the area clean and dry over the next 24 to 48 hours.

After-Care Instructions

• Refrain from prolonged sun exposure for 48 hours.
• Avoid the use of exfoliating skin care products for at least 24 to 48 hours.
• Do not receive another back facial treatment within 48 hours.

Microderm Infusion

Please Be Aware

• You may notice some temporary tightness, redness, or slight swelling following the treatment. Individual sensitivity and amount of tightness, redness or swelling, if any, may vary.
• Skin should calm within 20 minutes to a few hours, depending on your skin's sensitivity.

After-Care Instructions

• Exercise should be limited for 24 hours after the treatment to avoid inflammation of the skin.
• Daily application of at least SPF 30 is recommended.
• Skin care products with active ingredients such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or retinol may feel more active on the skin for a few days following a treatment.
• Refrain from physical exfoliation of the treated area for 72 hours following a treatment.
• Wait 24 hours before shaving the area treated by a treatment to avoid irritation.
• Wait 24 hours to receive a massage following a treatment.

Please Be Aware

• Results from a Chemical Peel/Exfoliation vary per person regarding the amount of visible peeling, if any, in the days following the treatment.
• Post-procedure skin care is necessary to minimize effects and maximize results of treatment. You will receive a Post-Procedure Solution Kit of products to use to care for your skin at home over the next 3 to 5 days following the treatment.
• Although complications are rare, they may sometimes occur, and prompt treatment may be necessary. In the event of any complications, immediately contact the independently owned and operated franchised location where you received your treatment.

Post Treatment

• Do not pick or pull on any loosening or peeling skin as this could potentially damage the skin and cause hyperpigmentation.

2 Days

• Do not receive a massage or stretch service within 2 days.
• Avoid excessive heat or cold as well as sun exposure.
• Avoid vigorous aerobic activity that causes excessive perspiration.
• Do not expose treated area to a hot shower spray.
• Do not use a hot tub, steam room, or sauna.
• Do not go swimming in a pool or ocean.
• Do not use a loofah or other exfoliating products.
• Do not direct a hot hair dryer onto the treated area.
• Do not apply ice or ice water to the treated area.

3-5 Days

• Wait 3 to 5 days before shaving the treated area (or until skin has returned to normal).

7 Days

• Avoid exposure to LED or UV light.

Home Care Recommendations

• Follow the Post-Treatment Guidelines provided.
• Refrain from wearing makeup for the rest of the day, or wait at least 15 minutes after the treatment to apply.
• Avoid contact with the treated area for 4 to 6 hours or until after cleansing the skin.
• Be aware of heat and body temperature to avoid excessive perspiration.
• Use the Post-Procedure Solution Kit for at least 3 to 5 days following treatment, and follow the instructions included in kit.

Nourishing Light Treatment

• You may notice some normal, temporary redness following the treatment.
• This treatment cleanses and exfoliates the skin, which can encourage the purging of impurities. You may experience a minor breakout in the days following the treatment.

• Refrain from tanning in the tanning beds or outdoors for the next 48 hours.
• Help protect skin by using an SPF.
• Some products containing vitamin C or retinol may not be appropriate to apply for 4 to 6 hours after your treatment.

Oxygenating Treatment

Please Be Aware

• This treatment may cause slight redness and skin sensitivity. This is normal and may be due to the exfoliation process.
• You may experience minor breakouts or blemishes as skin impurities rise to the surface.

Aftercare Instructions

• Refrain from tanning in tanning beds or outdoors for the next 48 hours.
• Avoid the use of potentially irritating exfoliating products for at least 72 hours.
• Do not receive another facial treatment within 48 hours.

Dermaplaning Treatment

Please Be Aware

• You may experience some minor discomfort such as stinging, heat, or tightness during or after your treatment.

Aftercare Instructions

• Refrain from prolonged UV exposure for the next 48 hours.
• Protect skin by using an SPF.
• Avoid the use of potentially irritating exfoliating skin care products for at least 72 hours.
• Do not receive another skin care treatment on your face within 5 days.

Hydrafacial Signature & Deluxe

• You may notice some normal, temporary irritation, tightness, or redness following the facial.
• Avoid direct exposure to the sun and use a minimum of SPF 40.
• For 14 days after treatment, please avoid the use of aggressive exfoliation, waxing, and products containing glycolic acids or retinols (that are not part of the recommended take-home regimen) in the treated areas.
